Thomas Arvid's lush, bold oil paintings of wine bottles are renowned and sought afer throughout the world. Completely self-taught, Arvid has been focusing his work on the richness and detail of fine wines and the rituals surrounding its consumption. In 1986, Thomas Arvid moved from his hometown of Detroit to growing Atlanta. In 1992, he spent several months traveling through Europe. Inspired by the fact that "Europeans have such a high respect for art and artists", Arvid returned to the USA and began painting with a renewed intensity.  Arvid renders reflected light on surfaces and the interplay between shadows and texture like a master. Arvid's paintings can be found in public and private collections worldwide. Like the fine wine he paints, Arvid's paintings are to be savored.
